Hands in Clay, Eyes on Detail, Minds Full of Wonder! Summer making is in full swing in Artopia, as we dig into the rich, sensory world of sculpture, shapes, and close-up creativity! From squishy clay play to magnified micro drawings, artists will slow down, zoom in, and build big. It’s a week of texture, transformation, and celebrating the joy of making! 

This week in Artopia, artists will: 

• Craft clay beads to string, swap, and take home as wearable art. 

• Turn 2D cutouts into BIG 3D shape structures through building, stacking, and interlocking pieces in a creative play space.  

• Observe objects and create illustrations using magnifying glasses during Tabletop Sketchbook time, guided by Micro Drawing & Close-Looking prompts. 

• Learn from our teaching artists who are playful guides ready to spark curiosity and nurture confidence. 

• All materials included. 

Dedicated Toddler Area: 

• Explore Clayscape Sensory Play in the Toddler Zone, hands-on fun designed for little ones to explore textures and shapes. 

• Create collaboratively on our giant drawing wall! 

• Step into a soft and colorful world of books, blocks, and building fun designed for safe play and lots of fun. 

During this Summer Session, you will make art to take home and contribute to collaborative projects that will shape our evolving studio space!

Summer Session tickets are available online or at the Museum Welcome Desk. Members, please log into your member account to access the discounted rate. 
Summer Passes must be purchased in person at the Welcome Desk. 

Please note: Summer Session tickets do not include general Museum admission. If you’d like to explore the Museum, separate admission is required and available at the Welcome Desk. All participants under 16 must be accompanied by an adult to explore the Museum.
