Join us in Artopia: NCM Creative Studios after school for a hands-on, project-based art series.
In this four-week program, emerging artists ages 11–13 will dive into papermaking and printmaking to create expressive, handmade art books. Students will make their own paper and explore techniques such as relief printing, monotype, and other image-making methods to build layered, visually rich pages.
Guided projects focus on narrative, identity, and world-building, helping artists explore how sequence, symbolism, and composition communicate ideas. Sustainability is woven throughout the studio as participants work with recycled fibers, found textures, and repurposed materials.
Inspired by contemporary installations at The New Children’s Museum, artists will see how materials and storytelling come together to create immersive experiences. Each participant will leave with a one-of-a-kind art book that reflects their growing skills and creative voice.
