Woodswoman: Earthseed Opening Celebration

Join us for the opening of Woodswoman: Earthseed, a new immersive exhibition by visionary multidisciplinary artist Saya Woolfalk. Created in partnership with The New Children’s Museum, the exhibition brings Woolfalk’s signature blend of science fiction, craft, and storytelling into a dynamic, interactive environment inspired by Octavia E. Butler’s Earthseed philosophy.

Designed as an open-ended world, the installation invites children and families into creative exploration through movement, sensory engagement, and shared discovery, fostering collaboration, storytelling, and a sense of agency.

The evening will begin with a reception featuring light bites, beer, and wine, followed by a conversation with Saya Woolfalk and Ayana Jamieson, PhD, founder of the Octavia E. Butler Legacy Network. Guests will then be invited to explore the exhibition as it officially opens.
